WHAT IS IT?

In Bloom is a development program for dancers to explore their own movement and creativity. Under the guidance of Casey Chellew the dancers will produce a showcase of their own works. Dancers will learn to create pieces with intention and have the opportunity to explore their own movement ideas and put these ideas on the stage.

Dancers will have the opportunity to choreograph their own pieces, choreograph and collaborate with others or if they are more comfortable with just learning choreography, there is opportunity for that too! There is room for all types of dancers hoping to bloom!

Dancers will be closely mentored and have assistance every step of the way during the creating process. They will also learn a piece choreographed by Casey for the show.

In Bloom is a dance experience like no other. It will encourage dancers to explore their creativity, to collaborate and experiment with choreography, as well as step outside their comfort zone. 

 

 

WHEN IS IT?

In Bloom will run as an intensive program from 11th September - 2nd October.

The program will involve a short rehearsal period (school holidays) and finish with a performance on October 2nd.

 

All dancers will be required on:

 

Sunday 11th September

Sunday 18th September

Sunday 25th September

Saturday 1st October

Sunday 2nd October (Show day!)

 

Dancers will also rehearse in selected groups on weekdays between the 19th September - 30th September. Dancers personal availabilities will be factored into this scheduling. More information will be provided once program commences.

 

Rehearsal Venue:

Starstruck Dance & Cheerleading Academy, Pakenham 

AND

The Space Dance & Arts Centre, Prahran

 

Performance Day:

Sunday October 2nd at Transit Dance. 

 

 

WHO CAN APPLY?

Dancers aged 14+ who are interested in choreography, creativity and collaboration. 

*There is no maximum age!

 

I am looking for dancers who are excited to challenge themselves and who are willing to learn from others.

 

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit a video of yourself dancing either your own choreography or improvisation. This video is to be 1 minute minimum - the more you can show me the better!

 

For this program I am looking for dancers open to exploring movement and their creativity. So be bold and take risks. Be as creative as you can be and show me who you are as a dancer!
